"Earth to Beth" is something independent greeting card writer and designer Beth has heard way more times than she cares to count, most always accompanied by someone snapping their fingers in her face. Except they usually say it in a ridiculously obnoxious way, like, "Earth to Beh-yuth, eaarrth to Behhh-yuuth."

Annoyed the hell out of her. And still does.

But to be fair, it was a legitimate request. Beth was often off in her own world, usually cracking inappropriate jokes and puns in her head with her irreverent perspective that only the crassest of people would understand or laugh at.
